With over 25 years of experience in human resources, Margaret has successfully led HR transformation initiatives across a wide range of public and private organizations, from entrepreneurial and mid-sized companies to large, global enterprises. Her career spans multiple industries including high-tech, scientific services, and manufacturing, which has allowed her to tailor HR strategies to the unique challenges and needs of each sector.
In Margaret’s most recent executive role as Vice President of HR, she led a team of 30+ HR professionals across Canada, the US, and the UK. One of her key achievements was restructuring the HR department to better align with the company’s business strategy. She reorganized all HR functions including Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, and HR Business Partners under a unified leadership structure. This restructuring created a more integrated and agile HR organization, enabling the company to respond effectively to its rapid growth.
Working closely with the executive team, her team successfully navigated a period of significant growth, doubling the size of the business, executing a successful IPO, and hiring over 2,000 high-tech employees. Margaret also played a key role in co-leading the Human Resources Development Committee for the Board of Directors and was instrumental in positioning the company as a “Best Employer” through initiatives that enhanced employee engagement, development, and retention.
